As part of the celebrations marking the Centenary of the birth of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, First President of the Republic of Ghana, and Pre-eminent Pan-Africanist Thinker and Activist

BACKGROUND
To make the centenary of the birth of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, first President of the republic of Ghana a programme, running from September to 2009 to May 2010 has been developed.
Among the high points of the centenary celebrations are a cluster of events and activities leading up to Africa Liberation Day on 25th May 2010, scheduled to be held in Accra, in close collaboration with the African Union Authority,
The main thrust of this cluster will be the intellectual and Pan-Africanist and internationalist dimensions of the life and times of Kwame Nkrumah, with an International Colloquium on Kwame Nkrumah’s contribution to Pan-Africanism, and internationalism, and its contemporary relevance as its intellectual peak.
The colloquium will feature recognized Ghanaian, African and international scholars discussing the theme from a variety of perspectives.
The kwame Nkrumah Centenary Planning Committee invites the submission of completed papers or substantive abstracts (2-3 pages), together with a curriculum vitae by February 2, 2010.
