I have a great pleasure, on behalf of the Government of Ghana and the Kwame Nkrumah Centenary Planning Committee, to welcome you to the website commemorating the Centenary of this illustrious son of Africa and the world.

The desire to commemorate and memorialize Kwame Nkrumah and his times is borne out of the fact that, he represents the foundational phase of the history of Ghana and the “New” Africa. In recalling the heroic era of Ghana’s Indenpence Movement and the wider struggle for the emancipation of the African continent we seek:

To unite Ghanaians and inspire pride and confidence in ourselves
To rekindle the drive for genuine unification of Afirca.
To invite all Africans, on the continent and in the Diaspora, to seek to excel

We should all therefore endeavour to re-connect with kwame Nkrumah’s boldness of visions, his faith in the power of the ordinary person, commitment to the unit of Ghana and of Africa, and the confidence to dream, to dare and to do.
